Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Lensey mobile application ("App") and any related services. By downloading, installing, or using Lensey, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Lensey regarding your use of the App. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Lensey. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

2Description of Service

Lensey is a photography assistant application that provides tools including, but not limited to:

• Field Assistant: Camera advice based on your gear, light metering, and golden hour calculations;
• Simple Edit: Offline photo editing with filters and adjustments;
• AI Lab: AI-powered image generation and enhancement via third-party processing;
• Backpack: Local gear management for cameras and lenses;
• Sun Map: Interactive sun trajectory visualization (may require a subscription);
• Library: Educational photography guides and articles.

3User Accounts

To access certain features (such as AI Lab and purchase synchronization), you may need to create an account using your email address via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account.

4In-App Purchases & Reactants

Virtual Currency

Lensey uses a virtual currency called Reactants to access AI Lab generations and certain premium features. Reactants are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are non-transferable, non-refundable (except where required by law), and have no real-world monetary value outside the App.

Subscriptions

Some features may require an auto-renewing subscription. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google according to their respective terms. You may cancel at any time through your platform account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Restoration

Purchases and Reactant balances are tied to your account and may be restored when you log in on a new device, subject to platform policies. We do not process payments directly and do not store your payment card information.

5User Content & AI Processing

Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the photographs and images you upload, edit, or generate using Lensey. By uploading content to the AI Lab, you grant us a limited, temporary license to transmit that image to our processing infrastructure solely for the purpose of generating the requested output.

AI Generation

AI Lab uses third-party services (such as Replicate) to process images. Results may vary in quality, accuracy, or style. We do not guarantee that AI-generated outputs will meet your expectations or be suitable for any particular purpose.

Prohibited Content

You may not use AI Lab or any other Lensey feature to upload, generate, or distribute content that:

• Infringes on intellectual property rights or privacy rights of others;
• Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene;
• Contains malware, viruses, or other malicious code;
• Violates any applicable law or regulation.

6Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
• Circumvent Reactant balances, subscription checks, or any other monetization mechanism;
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to interact with the App or its backend;
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its servers;
• Create multiple accounts to exploit free trials or promotional Reactants.

7Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to Lensey — including but not limited to software, design, trademarks, text, graphics, and the selection and arrangement thereof — are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any license to use our trademarks or branding without prior written consent.

Your edited and generated images are yours to keep and use, subject to any third-party terms governing the AI models used (e.g., Replicate's acceptable use policy).

8Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Lensey at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, but provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limitations shall survive.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Local data stored on your device (gear sets, cached images) can be removed by uninstalling the App.

9Disclaimers

Lensey is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy of golden hour calculations, weather data, or photographic advice;
• Availability, reliability, or quality of AI-generated images;
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App;
• Compatibility with all devices, operating systems, or camera hardware.

10Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Lensey or its developers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of photos, data, or content;
• Financial loss arising from missed photographic opportunities;
• Damage to camera equipment or personal injury;
• Loss of Reactants or subscription value due to service interruptions.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

11Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App's operating entity is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

12Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Your continued use of Lensey after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App.
